My unit lesson took place over three days. The unit was intended to teach the students about memoir writing so that they are more equipped to write memoirs themselves later on in the unit. So each day I read a memoir and then held a discussion on the importance of the specific characteristics of the memoir that was read that day. I started class the first two days with a survey that got students thinking about how their life can be used in their writing which then wrapped into what we learned about in the memoir we read and discussed. My second day of the unit lesson was observed by my teacher from HCHS and was also filmed to be watched by a student in my class, so I can be more accurately assessed on my progress in the classroom. The third day was a shorter lesson because it was divided into two parts, and I only taught the first part.
